News from Mrs. Nowak - September 10
Thank you to all of the White Tiger Families who came out last night to Oberweis to support Welch’s PTA! It was a great way to end the week, and the staff had a blast visiting with everyone! It is a GREAT day to be a Welch White Tiger!
Wednesday, September 12th - Curriculum Night
WELCH CURRICULUM NIGHT… Welch’s curriculum night will be held Wednesday, September 12th, for all grade levels. This evening is designed to allow parents the opportunity to better get to know their child’s teacher and hear about the curriculum designed for their child’s grade level. Each grade level has two identical sessions from which to choose.
First Session: 6:00-6:30 p.m.
Second Session: 6:45-7:15 p.m.
Please note that this evening is for PARENTS ONLY. Welch students and siblings are not invited to this important night for parents as we will not have any supervision for them. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
1,2,3,4 - WE DECLARE A PENNY WAR… Please support IPEF and Welch Elementary School by participating in a penny war that will take place the weeks of September 10th and September 17th. Each grade level will have their own jug for collecting money in the LMC. Grade levels can GAIN points by adding pennies and bills to their jug and can DEDUCT other grade level totals by adding silver coins to their jugs. The grade with the most “points” at the end of each week will win a prize! Please see attached flyer for more information!
VISION AND HEARING SCREENING… Welch Elementary will be conducting vision and hearing screenings. These screening tests are mandated by the Illinois Department of Public Health at specific times during a child's educational experience. If your child wears glasses, please make sure that they have them in school. Vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye and vision evaluation by an eye doctor. Your child is not required to undergo the vision screening if there is a completed signed report on file indicating that an exam has been administered in the previous twelve months by a certified optometrist or ophthalmologist. All students in KN through 3rd grades will have hearing screened and all second graders will have vision screened. ————
