Welch Field Day!

Field Day…Field Day is almost here!! Due to the number of White Tigers at Welch, FIeld Day will be split in half - the fun will begin on Friday, May 31st (rain date of Monday, June 3rd) for our kindergarteners, first and second graders from 9:30 - 11:30 AM and will continue from 1:20 - 3:20 PM for our third, fourth and fifth grade students. During these times, students will rotate through a variety of different beach themed games and activities.

Students will have a special treat to enjoy as they rest and cool down during one of their Field Day stations. Welch will be providing Jolly Rancher Popsicles for the White Tigers. Ingredients are below and can also be found at: Jolly Rancher Popsicle Ingredients

If you don’t wish for your child to partake in the Jolly Rancher Popsicle, please indicate on the attached form and return to your child’s classroom teachers by Wednesday, May 29th.

Field Day Reminders

We need volunteers to make this day a successful one! If you are interested in volunteering, please use the following link to sign up:
A Day at the Beach Field Day Sign Up 2019

If you volunteered to help with “A Day at the Beach” please plan on arriving at 9:15 AM for the morning session and 1:05 PM for the afternoon session. Thank you to everyone who has offered to donate a bag of ice or water— water can be dropped off anytime between now and Friday’s event— we ask that ice be dropped off on Friday.

We will be having a special lunch available on Field Day— this was communicated for the past several weeks. If you did not order a lunch through the online form, students will need to plan on bringing a lunch from home. Other Helpful Field Day Tips… to add to the fun of the day, we invite students to dress in grade level colors, and wear active clothes with proper gym shoes:

K - Red
1 - Green
2 - Purple
3 - Orange
4 - Blue
5 - Fifth Grade T-Shirt

Sunscreen – We will be outside for the two hours of Field Day and lunch, sunscreen can be very important. Please note that a teacher may NOT put sunscreen on your child. Students should come with sunscreen applied.

Water Bottle – Students do have some time for drinks and restroom, but a water bottle can be convenient. Please make sure you put your child’s name on his or her water bottle.

Naperville Police Calendar… The winner of the Naperville Police calendar contest is Melanie Ma from Mrs. Borghesi’s class! Congratulations on your hard work and representing Welch Elementary

Yearbooks…We have a limited number of yearbooks that are available for purchase if you did not purchase one.
