News from Mrs. Nowak - June 3
It is hard to believe that another school year is coming to an end! I want to thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us - Welch is a truly unique and wonderful place to be because of each and every one of you and your children. We could not do what we do without the community’s amazing support and collaboration, and are looking forward to another terrific year! I hope everyone finds some time to relax and enjoy time with friends and family this summer! It is a GREAT day to be a Welch White Tiger!

Field Day…Field Day is Monday. See you email for tiing details. During these times, students will rotate through a variety of different beach themed games and activities. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help with “A Day at the Beach.” We will be having a special lunch available on Field Day— this was communicated for the past several weeks. If you did not order a lunch through the online form, students will need to plan on bringing a lunch from home.
Other Helpful Field Day Tips: To add to the fun of the day, we invite students to dress in grade level colors, and wear active clothes with proper gym shoes:
K - Red
1 - Green
2 - Purple
3 - Orange
4 - Blue
5 - Fifth Grade T-Shirt
Sunscreen – We will be outside for the two hours of Field Day and lunch, sunscreen can be very important. Please note that a teacher may NOT put sunscreen on your child. Students should come with sunscreen applied.
Water Bottle – Students do have some time for drinks and restroom, but a water bottle can be convenient. Please make sure you put your child’s name on his or her water bottle.
Yearbooks…We have a limited number of yearbooks that are available for purchase if you did not purchase one. If you would like one, please send cash (exact change) or check made payable to Welch Elementary School. The cost of the yearbook is $15.00. If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Rhoades (firstname.lastname@example.org). Yearbooks will be distributed to students this week.
Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year… Have you registered your child for the 2019-2020 school year? Did you know we can lose classroom sections and teachers if families don't register their child? Thank you to our families who have completed registration! If you have not, please do so immediately, as we are currently placing students. If you have any questions about how to complete registration, please call the school office at 630.428.7200.
Summer Office Hours…The school office will be open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 -3:00. There are a few pockets of time when Mrs. Essenfeld and myself are on vacation at the same time. Therefore, I encourage you to call ahead.
End of year pick up…If your child is not in attendance on the last day of school, please make arrangements to pick up his/her items/materials/personal belongings from the school office. All items must be picked up no later than Thursday, June 13th.
Lost and Found…Our Lost and Found is quite full! Please encourage your child(ren) to take a peek to see if there is anything that belongs to them. We will be donating all items that are left on Monday, June 10th. Thank you!
