Welch Holiday Giving Tree… The Holidays are quickly approaching! For many of us, the holidays are a season filled with family, friends, and food. It is a time meant for sharing our love of each other and enjoying the peace of the season. Welch Elementary School would like to extend the spirit of giving by offering an opportunity to contribute to families who are currently experiencing hardships within our Welch community. We will be collecting gift cards and monetary donations of any amount for groceries, gas, and gifts to help make the holiday season a time of joy for all of our families. Gift cards and donations (cash or check made payable to Welch Elementary School) can be dropped off at Welch between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM from now until Monday, December 14th. Thank you so much for keeping the holiday spirit alive at Welch, especially during such a hard year for so many!

Author Visit - Grades 2 and 4… Mr. Jim Nielsen is a Biology teacher at Waubonsie Valley High School, and he enjoys sharing his passion for the environment and sustainability with his students and the community. Mr. Nielsen will be virtually visiting Welch 2nd and 4th graders on December 15th. He is now proud to be an Ambassador for Orangutan Alliance, and their work to save the environment inspired him to write Orange and Ivy Save the Rainforest. Mr. Nielsen believes in the next generation of young people as they are going to be the ones that can save our Natural World. The purchase of every book plants a tree in your honor on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. This creates critical habitat and food for thousands of species! You can support and help endangered species by ordering a book of your own at:
