Will You Read Me A Story?
Reported by lynn_domek@ipsd.org on 10/22/09
The simple question of “Will you read me a story?” is an invitation to share the joy of reading with a child in your life. Because of this joy of reading Welch Elementary again chose to participate in Pearson and Jumpstart’s Read for the Record on October 8th. Almost a million people have registered for this annual one day reading celebration in the last four years. This year, Pearson and Jumpstart were hoping to double that number in one day by reading the beloved classic, A Very Hungry Caterpillar. Welch was fortunate to have many community volunteers who took time out of their day to read to them. Janet Madiol, PTA, organized the project. Information about the project can be found at http://pearsonfoundation.org/pearsonrftr/fastfacts.html?documentid=295.
