Hot Lunch Information

Students at Welch will have the opportunity to purchase a hot lunch at their school on a daily basis.

How does it work?

Students will be given the opportunity to purchase a 20 meal ticket for $40.00 or a 10 meal ticket for $20.00. These tickets will allow the student to receive a hot meal for lunch. The cost of each meal is $2.00 and the meal will be deducted from the card each time it is used.

How do I buy the meal ticket?

Every month, you will receive a newsletter and the next month's menu along with a lunch money envelope & reminder. We will ask you to fill out the front of the envelope, with your child's name, teacher' name, and grade. A check made payable to Sodexho should be sent to the school one week prior to the beginning of the program. You will receive the envelope back as your receipt.

Who keeps the ticket?

The ticket will be kept in your child's classroom and given to your child at lunch time. At that point your child will give the ticket to the Sodexho employee on duty. After lunch the ticket is returned to the classroom.

How will I know when my child is getting low on meals?

A reminder envelope will be sent home with your child when there are only four meals remaining on their ticket.

Can my child pay for their meal with cash on a daily basis?

The only way your child can purchase a meal, is with the meal ticket. Cash WILL NOT be accepted by the lunchroom staff.

What if my child doesn't want lunch everyday?

When the teacher passes out the lunch tickets, all your child needs to do is to inform them that they don't want a hot lunch that day.
