It is hard to believe we only have 14 days left of the school year! We have some fun things planned over the next few weeks and know we will end this crazy year on a positive note! As a reminder, we are currently registering students for next year! Please let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance. It is a GREAT day to be a Welch White Tiger!

2021 ABC Countdown!

Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year… Registration for the 2021-2022 school year started on-line, May 3. Please complete ASAP - your responses impact our number of classroom sections. Reminder: all students will attend in-person instruction 5 full days, unless an approved medical exception is received. This video below goes through the registration process.

Moving? Do you have plans to move during this school year or prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year? If so, please complete the form below so we can help make your student's transition easier and more efficiently plan for sections for next year. Remote Students Technology… At the end of the year, tentatively, June 7th, our remote students will be returning their chrome books, text books and any additional resources that need to be returned to school. Please use the next month to make sure your child can identify and find the materials that will need to be returned to school.

Kindergarten 2021-2022… If you have a child who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2021, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year.* We need the Welch Kindergarten Information Sheet as soon as possible so that we can begin planning kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming school year. This information will be used to form a kindergarten mailing list. Once on the mailing list, additional information will be mailed to eligible kindergarten parents. Additionally, please review this presentation for more information about kindergarten in IPSD 204. If you have any neighbors who do not presently have school-aged children, but will have an incoming kindergartner, please give them a copy of this form or ask them to call our office at 630.428.7200.

*District 204 recommends full day kindergarten. However, if you have questions about attending a half-day of kindergarten, or need early entrance criteria, please contact your child’s principal.

PTA Needs YOU...As many are getting ready to close out the 2020-2021 school year, Welch PTA is gearing up for the next one! Although this past school year has looked different than previous ones, and most likely, so will the upcoming school year, scheduling still needs to be done, events need to be planned, fundraisers booked, and a team in place to ensure that when things are back to normal Welch is ready!

The Welch PTA Nominating Committee is looking for interest in the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are interested in any of these positions please contact Sarah Nowak (sarah_nowak@ipsd.org).

LMC - OMG Bookfest… Anderson's Bookshop is excited to offer books for sale from the virtual authors that visited with Welch 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades students. Books can be ordered at this link. For information about the authors see OMG Bookfest Chicago.

CHROMEBOOK RETURN: Please see attached information sheet about returning Chromebooks at the end of the school year. Any Chromebook returned in damaged condition will have fines noted and posted to Pushcoin. Thank you for returning all Chromebooks AND chargers. Remote students can return Chromebooks on Monday, June 7 from 9:00am-11:00am. In person students will be returning their Chromebooks AND chargers according to their teacher timeframe.
